Welcome to Dalsland, one of the smallest provinces in Sweden, often called a Sweden in miniature. Here you find numerous lakes, deep forests but also agricultural areas in the south of the province.
From 1860 to 1930 some 50 000 people emigrated from Dalsland to America, more than the number of people living here today, approxi-mately 48 000. It is said that every family in Dalsland, has relatives in America.

Through Dalsland runs one of Europe´s most beautiful waterways, the Dalsland Canal, inaugurated in 1868.
